Part 1: Career Objectives and the Role of the Scholarship
I am currently studying nursing Science in the university of Uyo and I am earnestly aspiring to be an anaesthetic nurse. My desire to pursue this course is not just because of the dignity attached to the course but it is borne out of the passion to serve humanity and help people lead better and healthier lives.
My career objective is to grow from just a competent graduate nurse with a B. Sc to a highly specialized and sought after Anaesthetic nurse dedicated to improve the humanity healthcare. However, this journey all starts with excelling in my undergraduate studies but its full actualization comes from a solid support system a scholarship would provide.
My immediate aim is to build a concrete foundation in nursing science during my days in the university. I am dedicated not just to passing my courses, but to truly learn and master the clinical and soft skills required. I aim to also participate in various medical outreach which I already did participate in this month of August. I am already working towards graduating with a first class not for the honour and applause but to be ahead in knowledge which others can gain from.
Following graduation, I plan to begin my career in a highly specialized environment such as the intensive care unit. These demanding fields will sharpen my critical thinking and technical proficiency.
However, my long term vision goes beyond the bedside. Within five to ten years, I intend to pursue a Master of Science in Anaesthetic Nursing. This advanced role will allow me to expand my scope of practice, provide care to individuals and address health care issues in rural environment.
This ambitious journey, however is paved with challenges especially Financial. The cost of tuition, textbooks and other essential materials is on the high side. I am currently balancing my rigorous academic schedule with part -time work, a necessity that draws my time away from studying most times. A scholarship would be transformative. It will alleviate the financial pressure allowing me to reduce my work hours and invest more time in building skills and volunteering in more medical outreach in communities. More than just financial aid, a scholarship will be an accountability system where I have to show myself approved . It would also affirm that my goals are valued and my potential for impact is recognized. A scholarship will not just help me become a nurse,it would empower me to become an asset to the country.
Part 2: Building a Resilient Nigerian Economy: From Farm Security to Digital Empowerment.
My approach to “Building a Resilient Nigerian Economy:From Farm Security to Digital Empowerment” is to use digital tools to secure farm security and in turn use the stability to foster digital Empowerment in order to build a Resilient Nigerian Economy.
The farm security in Nigeria can be improved by moving from the general subsistence farming to a digital driven farming. The farm security can be improved by adopting emergency alert system and drones. This approach will lead to high security in farms thereby increasing food production and lowering prices.
With lowering of prices , there would be reduced importation of food. The economy can better support the growth of the digital sector.
Individuals who want to venture into farming can be trained by integrating digital literacy, coding, data analysis into the academic curriculum at all levels.
The Government should establish and fund innovation hubs and tech academies across the country offering specialized training in software development and digital marketing to improve AgriTech.
If these approach is put in place, there would be a richer and more digitally – skilled population creating a larger market and a massive Nigerian Economy.
